The Liberty Bell Knitting Guild was founded in 1987 after several Philadelphia area knitters met at a knitting convention in the Washington, DC area. They did not know each other until that meeting and decided that upon returning home, they would continue to meet and knit. Those women included Rosalie Leftwich, Marilyn Leftwich, Alison Ginn and Phylis Fierman. The Guild has continued in operation since then, bringing together knitters to share and grow the craft.
Members have a range of creative Fiber Arts that they do - they might knit and crochet in addition to those who quilt, embroider, needlepoint and sew.
Those in attendance talk about a current project or projects that they have brought that day. Folks also might bring, or wear, finished objects. After a complete "round" of introductions for all who attend that day, folks have the ability to ask questions or follow up on something that was discussed.
Many of our members knit or crochet for local charity projects and they may mention those in the meetings.
All are welcome to join us.
We look forward to seeing you at future meetings.
